This week is off to a great start for me! The weather lately has been so hot and wildfires have been popping up all around us. We have literally seen fire crews spraying down the grass on the side of the road just about every day! But, we finally got some much needed rain and some nice cool weather yesterday and this morning… so, fingers crossed it stays this way a little while longer!
In other news, this is week two of my weekly readings. Last week, we were made aware of the possibility for some pretty important decision-making. We were asked to evaluate our immediate needs, make the cut, and move forward from them. Did you notice that in your week? I definitely did.
Read about it here in my weekly reflections!
This week, we have the 10 of Wands reversed, The Hanged Man, and the Page of Cups. It seems to be a little bit of a continuation of last week’s reading, which only makes sense. The consequences of the decisions we made last week don’t just disappear because it’s a new week. This week, we’re still dealing with the aftermath.
The 10 of Wands reversed signifies that we might have bitten off more than we could chew. Our choice definitely came with a cost and now we’re feeling burdened by the load we’re left to carry. Maybe we feel that we’re in it alone, or maybe we feel that we made the wrong choice. Maybe the timing was just off.
The 10 card represents endings or culminated events. So, with that in mind, maybe the end of the project we’ve left behind has loose ends we are now in the process of tying up, which is proving to be a lot, maybe too much to handle. This is the present card, and it is a Minor Arcana card, so this event is only temporary.
The Hanged Man is our challenge this week (as if we didn’t have enough) and is only fitting for our circumstances. He’s still caught in the decision-making process, and is having a hard time moving forward from it. This shows that maybe we weren’t able to recover, as the Knight of Cups reversed revealed last week.
The Hanged Man’s inability to choose is keeping him from moving forward and may even mean that when he does, it will be a big sacrifice for him to let go. This may be emotionally, financially, socially, etc. It’s easy to feel like a victim right now, so I think the challenge is to turn it all around and try to come out of it all on top.
If The Hanged Man teaches us anything, it should be that all we need in this process of ours is a fresh perspective. Rather than feel like a victim or feel like the world is ending because of our choice (that’s pretty exaggerated, but along those lines), we need to pretend for a moment how things might work out for us in the new situation and with those visions in mind, start to create them in our lives, even in small ways.
This is a Major Arcana card, so the effects of this will be more pronounced for you. It will take real effort to move through this phase of your week (and life), but at least you’ll have experiences to draw from for the future. That is, after all, how we grow.
The Page of Cups is our outcome for the week and it is the exact new perspective we need! This card is notorious for unexpected creativity. Even if you’re feeling like rock bottom right now, you’ll find this spark of light seeping in through the cracks of the boulders on top of you. Reach for it!
The difficult situation of making your choice has left you feeling fragile, vulnerable, and doubtful; however the Page shows that you will come to use your intuition as your guide, showing you the way out of your troubles. Trust yourself, your motives, and your reasons. It will all work out for you.
Because The Hanged Man is so close to death, he teeters between physical and spiritual worlds, leaving you open to spiritual communication either with actual Spirit or with your higher self/ subconscious. With the Page of Cups, you are more likely to actually recognize those messages and use them to back your creative genius!
So, be on the lookout for a continued struggle from last week’s decision-making. Be prepared to make the sacrifice – seeing as it is a Major Arcana this week, I think it will actually stick this week. Then finally, know that inspiration and creativity are coming. Trust that it will, look for the light, and give yourself credit. What you’ve done is hard. Now, it’s time to move on.
Do you recognize this happening in your week so far? How do you think you can overcome your obstacles? Have you found your spark of inspiration, yet?
